Anthony Fantano breaks down the Fiasco that is LASERS. My opinion: Lupe should have pulled the plug on himself. Where is Soundtrakk?! I don’t even think the people who requested him to make this type of music even liked this album. A return to the independent scene will rejuvenate him for sure. More Soundtrakk please.
Jowin’s Hyaline EP gets the remix treatment along with a few other surprise collaborations with Jonathan Lowell, Plue Starfox, & Detroit’s Doc Illingsworth. This should hold you guys down until Jowin’s next project, which will definitely be amazing, trust me.
Them #KoolKluxKlan boys are back at it again with a cool little skater anthem over a 9th Wonder beat.
Ill & Plue link up once again for a single off Plue’s upcoming mixtape, The Midnight Sun. In this track, Plue chops up a song from the anime Macross Plus & Illecism complements the bouncy/childish soundscape with pretty abrasive lyricism firing shots at the XXL Freshman roster. Honestly I don’t think anyone should be mad at XXL nor take it seriously, but I get where Illecism’s coming from.

Big Ghostface is a personified internet meme. First sighted on Odd Future’s favorite blog 2DopeBoyz.com’s comments section, the online hip hop community laughed it’s ass off as someone, somewhere, somehow, was throwing shots at “soft rappers” speaking in the Staten Island 5%er dialect popularized by the god Ghostface Killah. Wiz Khalifa & a few others caught feelings from Big Ghost’s verbal barbs through his twitter account & extremely entertaining blog of the century candidate http://bigghostnahmean.blogspot.com/, resulting in threats of account deletions. Here is an extremely rare twitter direct message-based interview conducted by DMV H.B.I.C., DDotOmen. Long live Big Ghostface, nah mean? ps. You Spa Rappers need to lighten up.

I believe this went down during Valentine’s Day weekend. Nikko & Afta perform their earliest collaborative single off their self titled EP at The Love Summit event in Chinatown, Los Angeles. Nikko isn’t just a wonder in the booth, but can effortlessly hit those high notes live as well. I’m ashamed that I missed this. I owe you one (+ then some), Ms. Gray & co.
