Here it is folks, the passionate Los Angeles emcee NAK presents his first offering of 2011: Rogue Hearts. These tracks are selections from NAK’s discography remixed by Evan Awake, laying down NAK’s vocals over production from the likes of MF DOOM, Maker, Blue Sky Black Death, Soulostar & more. Those unfamiliar with NAK will find a very unique and energetic voice full of fury. Spiritually charged lyrics are NAK’s forte, & he plays them very well to illustrate life situations. Hopefully we will see an original project with production of this caliber in the future.
Things take a slight turn for the unexpected as Evan Awake mixes NAK’s “Rogue Rap” with MF DOOM’s special herb known as “Arrow Root” in this final leak off NAK & Evan Awake’s Rogue Hearts remix project. The whole thing should be out this week.

Kevin Cao designed this music video with the now infamous typography approach to DFD & DJ Zo’s remix of Kleerup ft. Lykki Li’s “Until We Bleed”. While I do think typography can get played out with a few more videos, I appreciate that it basically puts the lyrics of a song at the forefront. As far as the song goes, it’s definitely one of the very enjoyable standout tracks on Dumb’s Cut & Paste EP.
