I believe this went down during Valentine’s Day weekend. Nikko & Afta perform their earliest collaborative single off their self titled EP at The Love Summit event in Chinatown, Los Angeles. Nikko isn’t just a wonder in the booth, but can effortlessly hit those high notes live as well. I’m ashamed that I missed this. I owe you one (+ then some), Ms. Gray & co.
Download the track if you haven’t yet.

This is a much more fitting title for the duo than their previous name, Flowshinoya. Final Fantasy sure is influential these days. Limit Break’s mixtape is in the works.

So the kid Jonathan Lowell had one hell of a year since we dropped Lightning. Production inquiries from all over the map & a healthy buzz was built by this upcoming producer in a very short amount of time. Unfortunately, Lowell will be putting the music on hold for a while, for education purposes. Before he took off, he left us yet another mixtape of various beats he made in the past year til now. Jonathan Lowell & Chuuwee’s mixtape Be Cool should be out very soon so keep a look out for that as well. And of course, expect a stronger Jonathan Lowell when he returns.
The homie Ghrimm comes through with a new music video for the lead single off his upcoming album, The Pursuit of Perfection.

NAK goes in over a soundscape constructed by Japanese producer M-Taku. An aggressive delivery over a really chill beat always stands out. Take notes.
New Orleans beatmaker Plue Starfox of KC.93 Records returns with a new project, The Midnight Sun, dropping very soon. Here are a few leaks from the project featuring remixes of tracks by Jowin, Future Sound, Curbside Jones, A Casual Villain, & more.

Sactown’s KENO gets busy over a beat produced by Rufio, who recently got a ton of buzz for producing that “Real Hip Hop” joint featuring Chris Brown rapping on it (no comment. Beat was way nice though.). KENO & Rufio’s For Those Who Are Still Sleeping coming soon.

Bullshit Always Kills Everything Real. B.A.K.E.R., DMV-based emcee presents a dive into the mind of a loner. Jazz piano samples all over this, perfectly suiting Baker’s bluesy sing song hooks & introspective verses. Dexter Fizz of KC.93 & Noraa make a few cameos. Add this to your winter playlist.
